John Bono

Chief Financial Officer

John joined Slate in 2023 and serves as Chief Financial Officer. John oversees the finance, accounting and tax functions for the entire portfolio which include reporting, cash management, forecasting, investor relations and risk management. Before joining Slate, John was the Tax Partner-In-Charge at Marcum LLP, formerly Friedman LLP, working with high-net worth clients, residential and commercial owners and developers, and senior housing facility operators. He was involved with consulting on acquisitions and dispositions, Qualified Opportunity Funds, and personal tax planning. Prior to Marcum, John was the Vice President of Taxation for Rockrose Development Corp., where he oversaw the tax and accounting functions, cash management, and tax structuring. Earlier in his career, he was in public accounting for over 10 years. John is a licensed CPA in the State of New York and earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from St. John’s University. He is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
