Baisley Pond Park

South Jamaica, NY

Slate, in partnership with RiseBoro Community Services, is leading a large-scale conversion of a hotel into permanent affordable housing. This redevelopment will create 318 permanently affordable homes for low-income families and formerly homeless New Yorkers, while also offering comprehensive support services and community amenities.

Queenswood Apartments

Corona, NY

This 296-apartment complex was first built in 1990 with housing for a wide range of incomes. Since acquiring the property, we have extended and deepened its affordability and are making sustainability and aging in place improvements to the property. We are also seeking approvals to develop additional affordable units on an underutilized parking lots.

326 Rockaway Avenue

Brooklyn, NY

Slate is partnering with Riseboro Community Services on one of New York’s largest sustainable, passive-house supportive housing projects. This all-affordable, mixed-use development will be entirely fossil fuel free for heating and feature a rooftop solar array to offset energy use, setting a new standard for environmentally conscious housing. The project was finances with low-income housing tax credits and tax-exempt bonds.

Rego Park Transitional Housing

Queens, NY

Developed in partnership with Westhab Inc., our non-profit collaborator and program operator, this 8-story, 64,000 sq. ft. project provides 88 units of transitional housing for homeless families with children. The building is designed to offer comprehensive support, with dedicated administrative spaces for Westhab’s social services. Residents benefit from a range of amenities, including a computer room, multiple recreation areas, on-site laundry facilities, bike storage, and a training room. The fully landscaped rear yard features a children's playground, and the building meets the 2020 Enterprise Green Communities Criteria. A striking 75-foot mural by internationally renowned artist Sonny Sundancer adds a vibrant touch to the space.
